The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering invites applications for an open-rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) position with a specialization in biotechnology or biomolecular engineering, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. Tenure on hire is possible for senior candidates. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, next-generation bioprocess engineering, advanced drug delivery platforms, cellular and metabolic engineering, and the manufacturing of novel therapeutic modalities, including cell and gene therapies, mRNA therapeutics, and complex biologics. In addition to wet laboratory-based research, we also encourage applications from those whose work integrates computational tools, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, with bioprocess control and digital twin modeling to accelerate drug discovery and biomanufacturing scale-up.
The individual hired will be expected to teach courses in chemical and biomolecular engineering at the graduate and undergraduate level, engage in scholarly activities, and participate in departmental, college, and university service. The successful candidate will also be expected to pursue external funding and support PhD students; maintain a strong record of publication; and contribute to department, college, and university efforts related to Lehigh’s Principles of our Equitable Community.

Qualifications
Candidates must have earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field by the date of employment.
