LEHIGH UNIVERSITY. The Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science in the College of Health invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor specializing in statistical methodology, quantitative trial design, and health data science approaches to infectious disease epidemiology, seroepidemiology, and/or immune response dynamics, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027.
This position reflects the College of Health’s priority on building an Infectious Disease Research Cluster. As such, candidates should expect to contribute to team-based scholarly works and collaborative, center-level grants as part of this cluster. This candidate will augment existing faculty strengths in: computational epidemiology, pathogen dynamics, agent-based modeling, infectious disease forecasting, and public health engineering.
In addition to high quality research activity, the candidate should expect to contribute courses in the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of: biostatistics and innovative courses focused on infectious disease data collection, modeling, and analysis with an emphasis on models that include serosampling, immunology, within-host models. The candidate hired will be expected to mentor and train students at the graduate and undergraduate levels; and support departmental, college, and university service.
The Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science has an interdisciplinary faculty with a strong research record supported by external funding. Faculty in the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science adhere to a Teacher-Scholar model, focusing on a broad range of research activities, building innovative curriculum, offering robust experiential learning opportunities for students. Qualifications
Candidates must have earned a doctorate in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, immunology or a closely related field with a focus on infectious diseases by date of employment. Candidates must have a strong track record of interdisciplinary, scholarly publications in seroepidemiology which may include: statistical or computational methods for serological data, geospatial modeling, the planning and implementation of serological studies to monitor infectious disease burden in populations.
