The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Experimental Physical Chemistry, broadly defined. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field, and a minimum of one year of post-doctoral experience is required by the date of employment. The start date for the position is July 1, 2026.
This open position is for a tenure-track assistant professor in the area of physical chemistry. A successful candidate will assume all of the ordinary responsibilities of a faculty member, including teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, building an independent and highly recognized research program, and providing service to the department, college, and university. The candidate is expected to teach in the undergraduate chemistry curriculum including CHM 030 or CHM 040 (General Chemistry I), CHM 303 or 040 (General Chemistry II), CHM 341 (Quantum), CHM 342 (Physical Chemistry), and/or CHM 343 (Physical Chemistry Laboratory), and a graduate course in the candidate’s field.
