Job Description

The Department of Mathematics at Lehigh University invites applications for a full-time Teaching Assistant Professor to start in Fall of 2024. The successful candidate must have earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics or a directly related field by the date of employment.

Excellent teaching is enshrined as foundational to our faculty and department, and we are committed to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The teaching duties will normally consist of three undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses at the introductory or intermediate levels each semester. The candidate will also develop and coordinate the use of instructional technology across the department's courses, coordinate multisection classes, help new instructors and visiting faculty develop their teaching, play a leading role in enhancing the department's undergraduate major programs, participate in departmental, college, and university service, and contribute to the university’s community outreach efforts. While the position is not tenurable, Teaching Assistant Professors who develop excellent records in the areas of teaching and service are expected to become eligible for consideration for promotion to the rank of Teaching Associate Professor, and ultimately to the rank of Teaching Full Professor.
